A Caribbean Challenge Demanding a Caribbean Response

Across the Caribbean, increasing sargassum influxes are creating serious challenges for coastlines, tourism, fisheries and coastal communities. It requires a sustainable, long-term solution.

Coastline Degradation
Recurring sargassum accumulation places added pressure on beaches and coastal environments.
Tourism Impact
Heavy sargassum influxes can affect beach access, visitor experiences and tourism dependent businesses.
Fisheries and Marine Life
Large accumulations can disrupt nearshore ecosystems, fishing activity and coastal waters.
Communities and Livelihoods
Coastal communities may face environmental, economic and public-health concerns associated with unmanaged sargassum.

Save Our Seas. Save Our Shores.

What We Are Doing

From Environmental Challenge to Economic Opportunity

Skydrate Inc. is working with strategic partners to develop an integrated approach that goes beyond collection and disposal. Our goal is to help transform sargassum and other suitable waste streams into useful resources, while supporting cleaner coastlines, economic diversification, local enterprise, job creation and greater regional resilience.

Looking Toward CHOGM 2026

With CHOGM 2026 taking place in Antigua and Barbuda from 1–4 November, the country will have a timely platform to showcase Caribbean-led solutions to Commonwealth leaders, investors and partners. Skydrate intends to use this opportunity to invite collaboration around its developing sargassum and waste-to-value programme.

Antigua and Barbuda is where this vision begins. The Caribbean is where we intend it to grow.
